What the health department recommends
Test for bacteria every year. Test for inorganic chemicals every 2 years. Test for nitrate and nitrite every 2 years if someone is pregnant, an infant lives in or visits the home, or the well is near farms or a septic system. Test for petroleum every 5 years if the well is near fuel tanks, a landfill or industry.
This is the county or state health agency's own advice, not ours.
